Located within the picturesque hills of Southern Kentucky, is the historic Sterns Coal and lumber Co. building. Travel back in time to an era where coal was king and logging was a major industry for Kentucky. Make sure you visit the many storefronts located in the building and take a ride on the Big South Fork Scenic Railway. Overlooking the building is the McCreary Co. Museum and gift shop.

Directions:
I-75 south to exit 62 (Renfro Valley), take Route 461 south to route 80 intersect. Take route 80 west approximately 6 miles and turn left onto route 914 (Somerset ByPass) and follow it until it ends at US27. Turn left onto US27 and follow it south for 30 miles until you get to the traffic light at the intersection of route 92 west. Turn right onto route 92, travel 1 mile, cross the bridge over the Norfolk Southern and K & T Railroads and the Stearns historic district and depot will be on your right.
