The Benham School House Inn

Photograph by Southeast Education Foundation

In the former coal mining town of Benham, a 1926 school vacated in 1992 has been transformed into The School House Inn, a hotel, restaurant and conference center whose hallways are still lined with lockers. The Benham School House Inn has 30 guestrooms decorated with warm and inviting furnishings, including several with gas fireplaces.

The Inn's special room is the Honeymoon Suite, complete with a hot tub This room is the place to spend that "once in a lifetime" evening. Looking out the windows of the Benham School House Inn many specula views can be seen, including a church built in the late 1800 or early 1900's.
